The annual IBC Energy Caribbean conference, now
into its sixth consecutive year is scheduled to
be held at the Hilton Trinidad in Port of Spain
on Dec 4-5.
The
conference has established itself as the most acclaimed
forum for providing updates on key aspects of regional
energy. With the shortage of opportunities in Middle
Eastern countries and the current focus of Western
countries on energy security, Trinidad & Tobago
is playing a vital role as the main supplier of
LNG gas to the US.
Additionally,
Jamaica, Mexico and Brazil and the proposed re-gasification
plants in Canada are now emerging as potential markets
for Trinidad LNG. This illustrates the increasing
importance of Trinidad & Tobago and the wider
Caribbean as an energy supplier and why the timing
of IBC's 6th Annual conference is of paramount importance.
The
2006 conference organised, as always, with Energy
Caribbean magazine, will cover the whole scope of
industry activity, from exploration through natural
gas development to changes in the tax structure.
There will be much to report on in 2006 including:
-
The petroleum tax regime - Help or hindrance?
-
The electric power industry in the Caribbean - Room
for more IPPs?
-
Where is the money coming from to finance Caribbean
energy development?
-
Why are Canadian independents flocking into Trinidad?
-
The rush to renewable energy - Is it being overdone?
-
Will there be any more LNG trains in the Caribbean?
