OILFIELDS Workers' Trade Union (OWTU) president
general Errol McLeod has urged his membership not
to take part in a plan to shut down the country
tomorrow and Friday.
Addressing
T&TEC workers in San Fernando yesterday, McLeod
said: "OWTU is not involved in that and we
have instructed our members not to be involved in
shutting down the country."
The
meeting by McLeod yesterday at T&TEC's San Fernando
branch on Cipero Street was one in a series aimed
at updating workers on the state of negotiations
for a new collective agreement at T&TEC and
Powergen.
McLeod
said the negotiations were at a standstill with
T&TEC following a meeting with the management
team on Friday.
He
said T&TEC's management indicated that they
could go no further with the negotiations and would
report it to a third party.
