conferencing and training experts will launch a
series of seminars, one of which is designed
to help people in the petrochemical industries
involved in carbon trading.
The first event will be supported by speakers
from the ministries of Public Administration and
the Environment. It will run from June 4-5 at Hilton
Trinidad and is timed to coincide with World Environment
Day.
The seminar is of importance to Trinidad because
the country was described by the organisers as
a top player in the gas and petrochemical markets
and in the process had become a big carbon producer.
Enman
Services Limited of Point Lisas, facilitator
for the seminar, is of the view that "with
global markets for low carbon energy products worth
at least $500 billion, the time is ripe for people
in the petrochemical market, financial institutions,
construction and engineering companies to come
to grips with what the orgasnisers described as
a rapidly moving arena."
