The
T&T Electricity Commission has appointed
Stephen Martel to the position of corporate communications
manager.
He was previously the assistant corporate communications
manager and the new appointment is effective May
18.
He
is a 36-year veteran of T&TEC in what the
commission called a “long and dedicated career.”
In
a statement, T&TEC said Martel is a graduate
of the Cuna Management School of the University
of Wisconsin and also the Frank Jeffkins School
of Public Relations of London. He also holds a
diploma from the London Chamber of Commerce in
Public relations, Advertising and Marketing and
a certificate in mass communications from the University
of the West Indies, St Augustine.
He
is a founding member of the Public Relations
Association of T&T and a member of the Institute
of Public Relations of England.
An
ardent sports fan, Martel has served as administrative
secretary to the T&T Cricket Board and secretary
to the North Zonal Council. He is also secretary
to the Essex Cricket Club.
