British
Gas has discovered a small amount of gas in the
central block, said British Gas’ chief
of staff Derek Hudson.
Commenting
on reports that the St Clair-based company had
made a ‘good size find” for
that area, Hudson said: “It was found in
a well drilled earlier this year.”
Hudson said he had no figures as to the size of
the find in Moruga.
“It’s part of a ready established
discovery,” Hudson said.
“It’s a field that we have that may
show some additional reserves. It’s making
little or no impact. The development we have in
place to bring on the central block goes on as
usual.”
A
source in the energy sector reported that, “It’s
a good size find for that area. It’s not
massive. The first field found was half a trillion
cubic feet. I suspect this one was slightly smaller.”
