National Petroleum Marketing Company Ltd (NP)
celebrated its third annual health safety and environmental
week from July 15-21.
The
week was marked with a number of activities for
employees including a fitness walk that took
place around the Queens’ Park Savannah on
July 15.
The
start of the work week was observed with the
symbolic hoisting of the HSE flag in a ceremony
that was attended by Dr Paul Huijzendveld, executive
director of T&T’s Occupational Safety & Health
Agency, at NP’s Sea Lots head office.
In addition to events organised for staff, NP
used the health and safety platform to highlight
some of the issues of concern regarding the handling
of its products and the behaviour observed at service
stations countrywide.
As the majority distributor of automotive fuels
and lubricants, and the sole LPG wholesaler in
the country, NP reminded the public about several
safety issues.
