Hudson is the new president of energy company BG Trinidad and Tobago.
BG Trinidad and Tobago, a wholly-owned subsidiary
of the BG Group, yesterday announced Hudson's appointment,
which took immediate effect.
"With more than 18 years of experience in
the oil and gas industry, Derek possesses exceptional
knowledge of BG Group's global business and particularly
our business in Trinidad and has the skills to
lead this Asset," said Bill Way, senior vice
president, BG North America, Caribbean and Global
LNG.
He
added in a statement: "We look forward
to Derek's contributions and guidance as we focus
on the continued growth of our business in Trinidad."
BG Trinidad and Tobago is the second largest gas
producer in Trinidad and Tobago and is one of the
core assets of the BG Group, with its operated
fields off both the North and East Coasts of Trinidad
as well as onshore in the Central Block licence
area and its shareholding in Atlantic LNG.
Hudson has served as BG Trinidad and Tobago's
chief of staff, responsible for policy and corporate
affairs, government relations and new business
development since May 2004.
Previous to this appointment he was president
of one of BG Group's key upstream businesses in
the North Sea.
