The Lloyd Best Institute of the West Indies has announced that its seminar
series for 2008 begins on January 23 with an outlook for the Trinidad and Tobago
economy.
The discussion will involve an analysis of the
Trinidad and Tobago energy based economy, the nation's
financial sector and issues surrounding the exchange
rate as well as examine the key factors in the
economy affecting growth.
During the discourse, the plantation economy theory
crafted by Dr Lloyd Best will continue to be tabled
as an appropriate framework for understanding the
economy of Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region.
This month's seminar will be held on Wednesday
23rd January, 2008 at 5.00 p.m. at Development
Finance Limited, Cipriani Boulevard, Port of Spain.
The panel will be lead by Dr. Eric St. Cyr, Research
Fellow at the Lloyd Best Institute of the West
Indies.
