THE
2006 Ryder Scott Audit of hydrocarbon reserves
was not the “doomsday prophecy” which
some people believed it to be, Ryder Scott vice-president
Herman Acuna said yesterday.
Acuna
explained the audit’s findings did
not mean the country would run out of oil and natural
gas reserves at any specific point in time.
He
made the comment during the South Trinidad Chamber
of Commerce’s 2008 Pet-roleum Conference,
Hilton Trinidad, St Ann’s.
Ryder
Scott has held meetings with several energy companies
since the 2006 report was done, Acuna
said, and added the matter was a case of managing
resources through a “framework of policies” which
the Gov-ernment would address.
