The National Gas Company has found a new president to lead the State firm.
Energy sector veteran S Andrew McIntosh has been hired by the NGC board of directors to replace outgoing president Frank Look Kin.
McIntosh takes up his appointment on March 9, the company announced yesterday.
He has more than 31 years experience in the energy sector, and has worked in both upstream and downstream operations in national and multinational companies.
McIntosh began his career in 1977 at the Trinidad and Tobago Oil Company and, in 1984, joined Trinidad Marine Ltd as chief engineer.
In 1994, he was appointed executive manager of energy projects at State oil firm Petrotrin, with responsibility for the first major refinery upgrade at Pointe-a-Pierre. He has also worked at Cliffs and Associates Ltd at Pt Lisas and, in 2001, joined German company Lurgi Metallurgie Gmbh.
By 2004, McIntosh had joined liquefied natural gas producer Atlantic LNG as vice-president Technical Services and later, as vice-president Operations, he was responsible for bringing Train IV into operation. He then moved to oil and gas producer bpTT in 2007 as senior LNG operations adviser.
The NGC said in a statement that Look Kin, who has served as NGC president for the past 12 years, will be available to the company to assist in McIntosh's transition as new president.
