?President of National Trade Union Centre (Natuc), Michael Annisette, has said that international academics including Noam Chomsky and Joseph Stiglitz have been invited to the Workers' Forum to be held as part of the Fifth Summit of the Americas.
He said that the Workers' Forum, which will be held at the University of the West Indies (UWI) on April 15-16, is an official part of the summit and the theme will be Towards Fair and Sustainable Development. Chomsky is an professor and author at the Massuchetts Institute of Technology (MIT) known for his sometimes controversial, left-wing views on international relations and Stiglitz is a former vice president of the World Bank and nobel prize winning economist who has praised Venezuela's economic development.
